The Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez ELLA Book Club seeks to promote reading among and about U.S. Latinas by featuring fun, modern books by Latina authors who write in their native language - and the primary language of the vast majority of Latinos in the United States - English!
Our acronym stands for English Language Latina Authors.
We believe books are fun, and that literacy is a cornerstone of social change and justice.
We seek literature that speaks to our unique US Latina experience in a fresh and unpredictable way.
We believe Latina authors, being fully human, can and should write about everything under the sun with no limitations.
We highlight cutting-edge modern Latina authors (and authors who write about the Latina experience) whose work is entertaining and fresh.
